► Major objective of Summer Internship Projects is to enable students to transfer their knowledge gained in classrooms to the workplace as well as to familiarize students with the complexities of the corporate world first hand. Internships help students comprehend and develop their career interest work with prospective employers and potentially secure a job offer. They are expected to work on a project that affords significant learning for them as well as add value to the corporate entity that they are working for.
► The process for pursuing summer internship which is to be undertaken at the end of the first year for MBA & third year for B. Tech. for a span of six to eight weeks.
► CGPC Team plays an important role in ensuring all students get an equal opportunity to experience corporate life/technical know-how through our structured summer internship program. It helps students to get exposed to the work culture of organizations and to simultaneously pursue a technical/management problem / issue, through multiple industry interfaces. It provides our students a unique opportunity to emphasize the value of integrity, reliability and teamwork. It also helps in upscaling skills like - networking, analyzing, communicating and problem solving.
► The summer internship is a part of the curriculum and the student has to be in constant touch with faculty members on campus and mentors in their workplace who act as guides and monitor their progress.
► All students are required to make a presentation & submit the projects at the end of their internship.
Pre-placement Offers (PPO):
Pre-placement offers may turn out to be one of the very positive outcome of any Summer Internship Program for students. The organizations generally evaluate the caliber and suitability of the student during the time of internship. With utmost sincerity, hard work and subject knowledge, good student’s generally grab this opportunity by successfully completing the work assignment/project given to them.
Howsoever, it is the discretion of the organization to offer PPO to the student. At times, the organization may take a special note to earmark high performing students and offer them placements during campus recruitment drive.
The entire placement related exercise is a collaborative effort between the Institute and it’s students. It is a privilege extended by the Institute to its students.
On the Institute’s part, CGPC provides the necessary guidance and support through extensive networking with prospective employers, it is up to the students to make the best possible use of the same and get placed.
CGPC prepares and posts relevant information about companies visiting the campus through their group email ids as well as through “job-postings” on the placement notice board. Interested students are expected to be vigilant, regularly monitor and convey their interest in the job- postings to the CGPC within the specified time limit in the prescribed manner.
Once the confirmation is received from potential employers on the date of selection process, it is further communicated to students with relevant details. The interview process is mostly conducted it the campus but in some cases, students can be asked to visit the recruiter’s premises for the process. While students are allowed to appear for interviews in multiple companies, they are bound to accept the “first offer” made to them. The placement process, which is a rolling one, commences in the month of October/November each year.
